| I think that Charles' mood and actions depend mostly on what Adam is involved in or whatever Adam is doing whether it is something that Charles is not doing or if it is simply beating Charles at a game. Charles has shown us a variation of emotions and characteristics mostly in the aggressive, jealous and abusive categories. I am curious to see how Charles reacts later in the novel now that Adam is married and his wife went to sleep with Charles. Also, there is quite a bit tension between Adam and Charles. | |

| I felt like Charles and Adam were actually starting to tolerate each other, but when Cathy arrived at their house, I think their relationship started to really fall apart. I saw this especially at the end of chapter eleven when Adam married Cathy. I feel like Charles may have slept with Cathy because 1) to start a fight with Adam, 2) Because Cathy persuaded him to, and 3) on the chance that Adam may leave her for cheating. I also beleive that he was just being himself as well though. | |
